01 — About

Our Intention

The intention of this reunion is to reconnect and catch up with each other after 10 years. For many of us, this will be the first time returning to RCN and the first time seeing each other in a long while. Besides that, it is an opportunity to show the college and UWC friends to your family or close friend.

We want to be clear that this reunion is not about careers, achievements, or measuring how much we have “saved the world” after RCN. Instead, the focus is on being together as people, without pressure or comparison.

Even if you have not spoken to someone in a decade, or if your time at (or after) RCN included falling outs or broken hearts, this reunion is about reconnecting in the present and allowing some things from the past to stay in the past.

04 — Travel

Getting to Flekke

We recommend arriving into Bergen or Førde and planning your own public transit route. Shuttle buses will be provided by the college from the Flekke bus stop—no other transportation is provided. Book early, as summer routes fill up fast.

Express boat via Norled. Book tickets in advance—summer is busy and seats may sell out.

5 daily flights via Widerøe. Førde airport is a 50-minute drive from campus.

Dale is a 15-minute drive from Flekke.

By far the easiest option! Drive from Bergen towards Oppedal, then take the 20-minute ferry to Lavik (runs approximately every 20 minutes during the day, more limited at night). Campus is a 50-minute drive from Lavik.

Pricing & Financial Aid

Payment is made upon registration. The ticket price is set for the school to break even.

Donations

To help as many alumni as possible attend, we’ve created a small financial aid system. When booking your ticket, you can choose to add a donation—which will go toward covering tickets for classmates who would otherwise not be able to join. Small donations matter!

If you need support to attend the reunion, you can apply for a pre-funded ticket (covered by alumni contributions) by March 31st.

Funded by fellow alumni who add an optional contribution when purchasing their ticket (all amounts welcome, kept confidential)
Applies to the attendance ticket only (not travel)
Funds distributed to those who indicate they would be unable to attend without aid
Applications viewed only by the organizing group and kept confidential
If requests exceed available funds, tickets distributed at random with a waitlist
Funds distributed on April 5th—applicants notified shortly after

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the intentions of the reunion?

The intention is to reconnect and catch up after 10 years. For many of us, this will be the first time returning to RCN and seeing each other in a long while. This reunion is not about careers, achievements, or measuring how much we have “saved the world.” The focus is on being together as people, without pressure or comparison. Even if your time at or after RCN included falling outs or broken hearts, this is about reconnecting in the present and allowing some things from the past to stay in the past.

Can I bring a partner, parent, or friend?

Yes! Partners, parents and friends are welcome to attend the reunion and join in on all the activities. The ticket price is the same regardless of whether you are a UWC alumnus or not.

Can I bring my children?

Yes, children are welcome! Children pay a reduced price (see the Cost section). Children can participate in activities, and there is also the possibility of arranging a babysitter during activities at your own cost—the school can help find and organize one.

Can I have a private room with my family?

Yes, you can request a private room for your family when you fill out the accommodation form.

What if I can only attend part of the week?

If you or your partner can only attend part of the reunion, you could reach out to Edis and/or UWC Connect to see if there is a possibility to get a ticket with a discount on food and accommodation costs.

What if I want to cancel my ticket?

Bookings can be cancelled according to the following conditions: before June 10, 2026 — 95% refund; before July 8, 2026 — 50% refund; after July 8, 2026 — no refund. Cancellations must be made in writing to connect@uwcrcn.no. Read the full Terms & Conditions.

What if I need help with travel costs?

Unfortunately, financial aid only covers the attendance ticket, not travel costs. See the Financial Aid section for more details on applying for ticket support.

What kind of activities will we do?

The schedule will be announced later. You can propose activities through the ! Want to host dodgeball at Haugland? Show partners the college view from inside a kayak? Catch the sunrise from Jarstadheia? Have a brilliant idea for World Today or want to teach Bollywood dance for a Reunion Show? Or maybe just sit at the student shop during a meal, like good old times—let us know!

How is information about the reunion communicated?

All information is shared through email, Facebook, WhatsApp and Signal. Make sure to fill out the so we can reach you! This page is also updated regularly. If you do not wish to receive information about the reunion, let the organising team know.

How can I express dietary needs?

Dietary needs can be filled out in the accommodation & dietary form. Please include any dietary needs for your partner and children, if applicable (vegetarian, vegan, halal, kosher, allergies, etc.).
